What is the Purpose of WECO?
The purpose of the WECO organization is to:
- Increase the understanding of the work and
career exploration process, both internally and
externally
- Develop necessary linkages between technical
professional and academic programs and
related career opportunities in the public and
private employment and training sectors
- Serve as a source of information pertaining to
Cooperative Education/Work Based Learning
to schools, employers and agencies
- Encourage the development and
improvement of work-based learning.
- Stimulate creative and experimental activities
in the field of work-based learning
- Encourage research in work experience
education
- Represent the State of Oregon as an active
member in the region and the nation in
matters pertaining to cooperative education.

WECO provides:

educational industry representatives which
produces closer linkages between education
and the world of work
- Forums for sharing academic or employment
information and opportunities
- Promotion of high standards of professional
conduct in the field of work-based education

information and research effecting
